Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Submission of the article implies that it has not been considered for publication in another journal.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Bibliographic references must be presented with single spacing, without indentation, without the use of reference editors, and include all URLs that allow access to the source articles.
  • Times New Roman font size 12, top, bottom, left and right margins of 2.5 cm. Justified text with double-spaced line spacing (except summaries), without indentation, with continuous pagination in the lower right margin.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

  • The manuscript file does not include the authors' data, to allow anonymous submission to peer reviewers.
  • Send a file with the Author Data with a maximum of six, indicating with an Arabic number the last academic title, institutional affiliation, email and ORCID® of each one, indicating the corresponding author with an asterisk*. It is requested that at least one of the members be a nursing professional who has collaborated on the manuscript.
  • The citations and bibliographic references are prepared in the Vancouver style according to the requirements of the magazine and these are from sources no older than five years. Depending on the type of article, it is suggested that they meet the minimum according to the following: Research: at least 25 references. Review: at least 30 references. Praxis: at least 15 references that meet the criteria mentioned above.
  • All references to bibliographical citations are in parentheses and superscript.
  • The summary has a maximum of 250 words, with single spacing, without indentations, in English and Portuguese.
  • The main sections of the article should be written in lower case, bold and aligned to the left, avoiding the use of italics.
  • The file includes the originality declaration letter, WITHOUT THIS THE EDITORIAL PROCESS CANNOT BE START, ITS ABSENCE MERITS THE IMMEDIATE REJECTION OF THE ARTICLE. ​
  • Include the following legends at the end of the conclusions. Conflict of interest: The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest. Financing: The authors declare that there was no type of financing, otherwise provide their information. Artificial intelligence: The authors declare that they have not used any type of artificial intelligence resource in any of the sections of this manuscript (in preparation, design, writing, structuring and proposals of figures, tables or graphs).

Author Guidelines

FOCUS AND SCOPE
SANUS Nursing Magazine, is a peer-reviewed, open access electronic journal, with continuous annual publication, edited by the University of Sonora through the Faculty of Biological and Health Sciences and the Department of Nursing, its mission is to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge. and professional nursing practice, through the dissemination of original scientific articles of national and international origin.

TYPE OF CONTRIBUTIONS

- Original research
- Reviews (meta-analysis, systematic, integrative, among others)
- Praxis (Case studies)

SANUS Nursing Magazine does not publish reflection articles or essays, letters to the editor, opinion articles, biographies, etc.

FORM AND PREPARATION OF THE MANUSCRIPT

Unpublished works sent to SANUS Nursing Magazine must be as follows:
- Research and review papers must be a maximum of 25 pages.
- Case studies (Praxis) must be a maximum of 15 pages.
- The presentation of the work will be in Microsoft Word format, letter size, double spaced (except for the summary, which will be single-spaced with 1 point), justified text, without additional spaces between paragraphs and titles. Times New Roman font size 12; margins of 2.5 cm on each side. The lines or lines to the left of the complete document will be numbered continuously, all pages must be numbered progressively in the lower right margin. The main sections of the article should be written in lowercase letters aligned to the left (except for the summary title, which must be centered) in bold. The subtitles of the sections will be written in lower case, bold and aligned to the left, avoiding the use of italics.

THE RESEARCH WORK WILL BE DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS

Title: It should be brief and indicate the central topic of the article, not include abbreviations or formulas and will not have a full stop. It must contain a maximum of 15 words and be written in Spanish, English and Portuguese. It must also be written in an affirmative sense.

Author information: It should come immediately after the title, include last academic title, institutional affiliation, and email. When there are several authors, the corresponding author must be indicated with an asterisk, as well as the corresponding email account.

Declaration of originality: A page with the declaration of originality signed by the authors and co-authors must be included. Without this letter the article will not be accepted to begin the review and evaluation process.

Authors: The maximum number of authors allowed will be six. The affiliation of each of the authors must be included with Arabic numbers. The corresponding author will be indicated with an asterisk. The author must indicate his ORCID® code at the end of the affiliation; if he does not have it, it is recommended to acquire it on the corresponding page.

Abstract: It must be written in Spanish, English and Portuguese (for the latter two see the translation section of this call) which will include a brief introduction, objective, methodology, results and main conclusions, add 3 to 6 key words, extracted from the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS, BIREME), separated by semicolons (Spanish, English and Portuguese). This will not exceed 250 words written single space. It should not include abbreviations, parentheses and citations.

Introduction: It should describe the specific problem of the study and the research strategy that was used. It must clearly state the what and why of the research and must reflect an extensive review of the literature and knowledge of the topic being discussed. Clearly establish the objective of the work and its relationships with other previously published research. It should not be longer than two pages. It should end with the research question, the objective and/or purpose of the study.

Methodology: The type, design, scope, population, sample, type of sampling, inclusion and exclusion criteria, study variables, description of the instrument, ethical aspects that support the execution of the study will be described (it must have approval from an ethics committee, which the editorial committee may request if it deems necessary) and the statistical analysis,

Results: Should be presented in a logical sequence and have satisfactory statistical analysis, if applicable. The analysis of the data must be in relation to the objective of the study. If tables or graphs are included, they must be attached in the place where they are mentioned and be of sufficient size to be reduced, indicating numbering with a title that briefly and clearly expresses the content. Do not repeat in the text the description of all the data that is presented in a table, graph or figure, highlight or summarize in the text,

just the important observations. Tables must include title, year and sample as appropriate, as well as source. A maximum of 5 tables and/or figures will be allowed per article.

Discussion: It must be in accordance with the previously established objectives and results to later compare with the theoretical framework. Discuss the new aspects and limitations of your study, also relating your conclusions to the objectives of the study and stating projections or new hypotheses if applicable.

Conclusions: Emphasize the new and important aspects of the results obtained and establish the final parameters of what was observed in the study. They must be related to the title and objectives of the job. They should not include quotes.

Bibliographic references: Indicate the primary sources consulted for the development of the article, they are cited following the Vancouver Standards. To support research articles, it is recommended to include a minimum of 25 bibliographic references, of which 50% must be original articles, they must not be older than 5 years, except if they correspond to classics on the subject. References must include articles published on the topic in the last 5 years in journals indexed in recognized databases, rigorous academic sources.

Avoid self-citation and reference to SANUS Nursing Journal as much as possible.

Conflict of interest: The authors must declare any relationship that could imply a conflict of interest in relation to the published article or declare the non-existence of such.

Financing: The authors must indicate the type of financing received to carry out the study or, failing that, declare its non-existence.

NOTE: Review articles and case studies must have the following sections:
- Reviews: Title, summary, introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions
- Praxis (Case Studies): Title, summary, introduction, methodology, presentation of the case (background, assessment, laboratory results, etc.), results, discussion and conclusions.

SHIPPING OF THE ITEM

It must be done through the journal's website using the Open Journal System (OJS) management system. Sending the article to SANUS Revista de Enfermería implies that it has not been considered for publication in another journal simultaneously. EDITORIAL PROCESS

All articles are reviewed by the Editorial Committee of SANUS Nursing Magazine, which verifies:

1. With a preliminary review, full compliance with the criteria requested in the authors' instructions, as well as the thematic relevance of the manuscript for the journal. If you do not comply with any of these guidelines, the author will be informed for modification or decline.

2. After this review, the manuscripts are submitted to a plagiarism checklist and similarity in the Ithenticate® software, notifying the corresponding author for modification in a period of no more than ten days or decline.

3. Upon full compliance with the basic guidelines of the Journal, the manuscript is sent to peer reviewers, who evaluate its scientific and academic quality, ensuring double-blind review (the identity of the authors is not revealed to the reviewers). , nor that of these to the first).

4. Once the observations of the peer evaluators are received, an editorial decision is made, based on the opinion issued by at least two or up to four peer evaluators. This decision may be acceptance with modifications (major or minor), acceptance without modifications or of rejection. If the manuscript is accepted with modifications, it is returned to the authors for improvement, who will have a period of ten days to send the manuscript with the pertinent corrections.

SANUS Revista de Enfermería takes a maximum period of 180 days to notify authors if their article was accepted by peer reviewers for publication.

5. Once the adjustments and any clarifications made by the authors have been received, their full compliance with the change control instrument is reviewed. If this complies with the improvements, an acceptance opinion is issued for publication, in Otherwise, it is returned to the authors to modify it.

6. Once the manuscript is accepted, it is subjected to the style correction process, in which process the particular style of each author is respected. This correction is one of form, never of content. Authors will have two days to approve the copyeditor's adjustments to the magazine layout. If you do not receive notification of the style editor's observations within the established time, it will be understood that the author accepts the suggestions.

7. Upon approval from the author of the manuscript in Spanish, contact is established between the translation firm and the author to obtain the final version in English. When the author authorizes the approval of his manuscript translated into English, the manuscripts are produced in both versions to be released in the final publication of the article.

ORIGINALITY AND ETHICAL RULES

SANUS Nursing Magazine publishes only original articles, with the understanding that any article submitted for publication has not been published or submitted to another national or international journal, for which the authors must include a letter of originality and a letter of transfer of rights. addressed to the editor of the journal, it must be signed by the main author and the collaborators of the article when sending your manuscript. Any article that has not included said declaration will not be able to start the editorial process; it must be signed by at least the main author.


To guarantee the originality of the articles sent to SANUS Revista de Enfermería, all manuscripts are subjected to a similarity review in the Ithenticate® software; the percentage of similarity allowed will be less than 20% of matching text. If this percentage is exceeded, the article will be returned to the main author with the report issued by the scanner. If it is sent again and restarts, said article will be declined.

PERIODICITY
Continuous annual, starting in January and ending in December.

PUBLICATION DATES

Manuscripts are received throughout the year, only through the Open Journal System (OJS) management system.

The publication is continuous and each article will be published according to the final editorial process.


TRANSLATION

Articles accepted for publication in SANUS Revista de Enfermería will be translated into English once the review process is completed.

The abstract and title of the article will be translated into English and Portuguese (mandatory). For which the authors must assume the cost of said translation, which will be carried out by a certified expert, external to SANUS Revista de Enfermería and the University of Sonora. The cost will depend on the length of the article.

IMPORTANT:

SANUS Nursing Magazine, publication costs do not apply. The costs that may be generated will correspond exclusively to the translation process, the editorial committee only links the authors with the translation company and they will carry out the corresponding procedures with it.

It is clarified that there is no cost for publication, style correction or any other situation that includes the editorial process of articles received and accepted for publication in SANUS Revista de Enfermería.

Reflection

SANUS Nursing Magazine currently does not accept articles derived from reflection and/or essays.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
